Terrasil Foot and Nail Anti-Fungal

Nail fungus treatment is the only way to eliminate a fungal nail infection, as they are stubborn, persistent and will not resolve on their own. Treatment for nail fungus may take months or even years, depending on the severity of the nail’s infection and response to treatment.

A variety of options exist for nail fungus treatment. What works well for one patient may not for another, and nail infections may return, depending on a person’s exposure to fungus and whether the previous infection has been fully resolved.

Topical Anti-Fungals for Nail Treatment

The most common nail fungus treatment includes topical anti-fungals placed on the nail and nail area to stop the infection. They may be prescribed by a dermatologist or podiatrist, or simply over the counter infection nail treatments.

Anti-fungals come in creams and lotions, such as Loprox or Terbafine. Lamisil is another kind of nail fungus treatment that comes in cream or gel form.

Topical anti-fungals are applied directly to the nail and surrounding skin, usually for 2-4 weeks. Other nail fungus treatments must be applied daily for up to a year.

Terrasil Foot & Nail Anti-Fungal is a nail fungus treatment treats infections in the finger and toenail area, as well as discolorations. It also helps to promote healthy nail growth to get rid of the nail infections.

Anti-Fungal Nail Lacquer

Nail lacquer, or anti-fungal nail polish, is another treatment for nail fungus. Ciclopirox is a prescription lacquer that is applied directly to the nails daily to help clear nail fungal infection. Nail lacquers must generally be used on a long-term basis for results.

Oral Anti-Fungals for Infections

Oral anti-fungals are very effective in killing fungi and clearing nail infections. They may need to be taken for up to 18 months for proper treatment, but oral anti-fungals are widely considered to be one of the most effective form of nail fungus treatment.

Nail Surgery

It is rare that fungal nail infections require surgery. Still, where other treatments fail, surgical nail removal may be necessary to clear persistent fungal nail infections. Depending on how much of the nail is affected, the entire nail may need to be removed. The nail may take up to 18 months to grow back, after a nail surgery.
