Reparación de la piel Terrasil

Folliculitis is a condition in which the hair follicles become infected and irritated. This infection of the hair follicles produces a rash of red, pimple-like, sometimes painful bumps on the skin. These bumps may pus or bleed when scratched. Folliculitis symptoms may appear anywhere on the body, but are most common on the scalp (where hair follicles are the most dense), face, neck, thighs and groin.

There are several variations of folliculitis, which are characterized by their symptoms. These folliculitis symptoms include mild or superficial folliculitis, deep folliculitis, hot tub folliculitis, and pseudofolliculitis barbae.

Folliculitis is most often caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Hair follicles that have been blocked or injured are more prone to the condition. This can happen as a result of shaving, excessive sweating or friction from tight clothing.

Folliculitis treatment and healing time varies based on the type. Mild folliculitis, hot tub folliculitis and pseudofolliculitis barbae tend to resolve within a few weeks. Deep folliculitis is more serious, and can be painful, recurrent and persistent. Extreme folliculitis hair infection cases may lead to scarring and permanent hair loss due to irreparable damage to the infected hair follicles.
